Don't forget the frying pan antenna wherever you make calls.

The car acts as the tin foil, the cards were to hold the foil above the pan so it didn't screw the pan up, and the pan was to contain the gas. And as far as it being a "shitload" of gas, have you ever looked at the ground at a gas station? I rest my case.

1. Look at how that person "makes some phonecalls" 2. Fire can not be that "big" so sudden, in case of burning aluminium foil. 3. The Mythbusters (on Discovevery Channel) have already proven, that mobile phones can NOT set petrol/gas or diesel to fire. 4. That bottle seemed to be "just" olive oil. 5. A mobile phone does not "generate" sparks, electric pulses or other forms of highly concentrations of energy, at least not enough to do things like happening in the video (they would be a threat to our health anyway, if they did)

Phone Ignites Gas Station Fire College Students Gets A Really Wrong Number While Filling Up NEW PALTZ, N.Y., May 14, 2004 (CBS/AP) Flames shot up around a 21-year-old college student whose cell phone rang while he was pumping gas. Firefighters said Matthew Erhorn, a SUNY New Paltz student, received minor burns at a Mobil station near the New York State Thurway (Interstate 87) Thursday night. "I'm very surprised," Erhorn said. He shouldn't have been. There's a sign at the pumps at the New Paltz gas station warning that cell phones should be turned off for safety while pumping gas. Firefighters believe the cell phone ignited vapors coming from the car's fuel tank as it was being filled. It doesn't take much of a charge to ignite gasoline vapors, New Paltz fire chief Patrick Koch told WCBS-AM's Peter Haskell. "Anything, really. Women's nylon stockings when they get out of a vehicle, that can cause a spark, too." That's why motorists are told "don't use their cell phones when they're pumping gas. Really, it's deadly," Koch said. The fire was immediately put out by the service station's fire suppression system, using an oxygen-killing powder. That covered other cars in the gas station parking lot as well as nearby trees. The station will remain closed until the system can be recharged. New Paltz is about 75 miles north of New York City. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/05/14/tech/main6175 47.shtml

What about a sign that says not to rub a baloon on your head to make your hair stand up? Or how about having a dress code at the pump? I mean, I saw this chick the other day who was so hot that she was being investigated for setting off forest fires in 3 states.

and what the F**k is the aluminum foil is doing in gas station?why he put it on his experiment?you know why? Because the aluminum foil has some special characteristic that can easily ignite.try to put it on your microwave oven,it will blow up your microwave. But if you put it on your regular oven, it won't ignite or spark...

Okay, first of all, if you have to call people names in order to sound smart, then you've already lost the debate. But since I'm the dumbass, I'll try to talk on your level. You tried to use aluminum in a microwave as an analogy, but you don't know what you're talking about. Aluminum is an electrical conductor and a microwave works by oscillating radio waves. Those waves accelerate the electrons in the foil, oscillating them back and forth. The electrons get forced to the metal edges until the charge grows strong enough to ionize the air molecules and create a spark. Cell phones, on the other hand, do NOT generate sparks, static, or ionize air molecules. What causes fires at gas stations is STATIC. That can come from any number of sources. Ever get out of your car and get shocked when you touch the metal edge of the door? Guess what? You just did everything necessary to ignite gas vapors. Next time you want to sound smart, don't.
